Today seemed more like a fall day than the 10th of December! The afternoon group enjoyed another fabulous day of exploration on our playground. After rest time some of the group began making trees to fill our winter scene. We have talked about the leaves falling and leaving trees bare and we have also discussed the pine trees that are still standing. This led to a discussion about decorating trees and several students discussed how their families have their Christmas tree. I set out tree materials as an art project and also set out several options for decorating the pine trees. Some kids made plain trees and some made very colorful trees! We will continue to add trees to our display of various sizes and decorated in many ways. Those that were not interested in the art project enjoyed some dress up time in the class room!
