Tuesday Afternoon KPAS 1/12/16

I apologize for the lack of updates last week.  I was out on Friday and the week itself was a very busy one after winter break.  Our playground has been very icy which has made navigating the hills a bit tricky.  The kids have enjoyed sliding down the hill on their butts as the ice is fast enough that they do not need a sled...getting back up has proved challenging but they are quite persistent and creative. The team work climbing up, the offering of a hand and the words of encouragement have been very endearing.  Last week Lyndley shared a shelf with me that she no longer needs...it has been a wonderful addition to our classroom.  I have been able to create a larger writing/art center with more materials readily available.  Everyone is enjoying the freedom of using the materials independently and the responsibility of cleaning up after themselves.  We have read and enjoyed the book the Perfect Square.  This will be the inspiration for a new bulletin board display in our book nook...the Very Hungry Caterpillar will be retired!!  Stay tuned for pictures of our newest bulletin board once we begin creating!!
